Kim Kardashian
The Kardashians have been taking over E! since 2007. The three girls Kim, Kourtney and Khloe have grown to be very successful business women with a clothing line in Sears, 3 Dash stores in major cities, and 4 very successful TV shows. But due to the most recent publicity Kim has been receiving many Kardashian haters are really coming out and making their statements be heard. On August 20, 2011 Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries said "I do" in front of 200 guests as well as a camera crew. The wedding was publicized very heavily and reported to have made millions for Kim and Kris. So when 72 days later Kim filed for divorce rumors were raising whether this was a publicity stunt. Whether or not the wedding was a a publicity stunt, Kim, who was also reported to make $10,000 off each tweet, made a statement to her fans via Twitter and didn't tweet another word until the next day which read, "God always has your back." Whether Kim and Kris got married for love or money, Kim did the right thing to write to her fans. She told those who cared about her, her side of the story rather than going on TV and telling the world. So whether or not Kim made money off her wedding, or was a publicity stunt, there will still be fans and still be haters, but all in all what do you think this 72 day marriage did for her fame?

Although I too am part of the Kardashian fan base, I do feel that the wedding was a complete publicity stunt. The Kardashians’ have been a trending topic for like the last 5 years, I think it’s safe to say she made lots of money off of the wedding. Kim’s fairytale wedding was watched by millions! She had an exclusive spread in People magazine which cost People magazine approx 5 million. The viewership of the show grew because the world was fascinated with Kim's new found love which grossed Kim more millions. Kim received a minimum of 10 million from all the publicity her wedding received. That doesn’t include the financial gain her family received. Just 2 days after the wedding Kris Kardashain (Kim's mom) released a book and Rob Kardashians followers grew both on twitter and his fanbase for DWTS (dancing with the stars.) Although she received a lot of negative attention from the announcement of the divorce I think a lot of this was predetermined
ReplyDeleteIf kim really got married just to increase her fan base, she made the worst mistake. Being a fan of her show, when she filed for divorce it completely changed the way I viewed her. Being that her lifestyle is above normal, I thought it was her values and morals that made her seem like she was normal. In my opinion, she made herself appear to be like every other celebrity.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Anna. I was never a huge fan of Kim but I respected her for making her money. Whether Kim hot married or not she would still make great money modeling and all the other crap that she does. She even has sponsors, I mean come on. I do believe the fake wedding was a bad move because, not only did it annoy fans, it shows she has no respect for the sanctity of marriage. Marriage should be taken seriously. I think Kim is simply being greedy.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand I thought of a great idea to help improve her image. I think she should donate her profits to women who can't afford real marriages. I think it would be a great show and it shows some social responsibility. I dunno... Random though lol...
She's still an attention seeker to me.
Well I would never say anything bad about Kim because I’m probably the Kardashians number one fan. If I don’t marry Rob and become a part of that family I just don’t know what I’ll do… No, but seriously, I do think it gave her fame. I DON’T however, think was a stunt. Kim’s known for being a hopeless romantic and has always been obsessed with getting married; she just fell into things too fast. Who would fake an entire wedding like that for fame? Not even Kim would pull something like that. When people call her stupid and say she’s famous for nothing just sets me off. I may be biased in saying this because I’m extremely fascinated by this family and the empire they’ve managed to build. Obviously they are not the stupid ones
